WHO ARE YA?...

The idea for Progress Music Academy came about after a meeting of two minds... Progress is jointly owned and operated as a Partnership between Gary Walmsley and Steve Smith.

Even in these challenging economic times, the current musical tuition industry is growing year upon year.  As technology advances and music performance becomes a more viable option, there are more and more people taking up a musical instrument. It is becoming increasingly easier and cheaper for people to make music and market themselves through online resources, and playing a musical instrument and/or playing with a band is more attractive and achievable than ever before.

This is also helped by the huge success in the video gaming industry of Guitar Hero and Rock band style games.

PROGRESS will provide a collective of 1-2-1 professional musical instrument tuition all under one roof. Other services will include music workshops, summer schools, clinics, networking, an advisory service and a whole host of musical related information.

The two owners of Progress Music Academy hold many years of experience between them, ranging from touring and studio work through to all aspects of the musical education system. The owners of Progress were actively involved in the production of last years 'Stick it to MS' drumming world record, the production of the annual Drumfest and Guitarfest events and active in the clinic/workshop scene through Ibanez guitars and DiMarzio strings and equipment.

Progress Music Academy is looking to become the Midlands premier music school offering 1-2-1 tuition across ALL popular instruments and will achieve that by providing excellent facilities, a unique teaching methodology and top quality tutoring.

Progress is also looking to develop further links with other businesses in Birmingham and would welcome any opportunities to network and promote for any mutual benefit.
